Care Home Open Day success!

Care homes across the country celebrated national Care Home Open Day at the end of June and many of our homes in Warwickshire took the opportunity to showcase their fantastic buildings, gardens and activities.

They included Thurlaston Meadows Care Home near Dunchurch, who opened their doors to the public, ran fun activities, showed off their fabulous garden and even made an amazing ‘astronaut’ scarecrow to enter in the village scarecrow festival!

In Southam, Galanos House care home held an open day with a painting competition to tie in with this year’s national ‘Celebrating Arts in Care’ theme and to coincide with Armed Forces Day. They involved the local community, youth groups and local schools.

Well done to everyone that took part in Care Home Open Day 2019! Don’t forget to let us know if your home is holding an open day or special event. Email your photos and reports of the day to seehearactlearningpartnership@warwickshire.gov.uk.
