What are you doing for Care Home Open Day?

National Care Home Open Day is on Friday (28 June) and is a fun and relaxed event that helps to showcase what goes on in our many fantastic care homes. This year’s theme is ‘Celebrating Arts in Care’.

A few issues ago, we asked you what your Care Home would be doing for the Open Day.

The Elms Care Home in Clifton-on-Dunsmore will be open to the public from 11am – 4pm and multiple activities are planned for the day, including celebrating the 102nd birthday of resident, George Benson!

Ambleside Care Home in Dodwell will be open from 10.30am – 4pm and is inviting the whole community to join them for some creative fun at their arts-inspired event. There will be a day of family-friendly fun with an array of exciting activities including an art gallery display, creative art sessions, poetry sessions and Shakespeare poetry readings, and live entertainment.

Thurlaston Meadows Care Home near Dunchurch will be opening from 10am – 5pm with an opportunity for people to meet the team, view the home and gardens and enjoy a BBQ on the terrace. There will be fun and music with keyboard player Mick White and raffle prizes, with all proceeds going to The Residents Fund.

We hope you have a fun and successful day, whatever you are doing! Don’t forget to send your photos and reports from the day to seehearactlearningpartnership@warwickshire.gov.uk and we’ll try to feature them in a future issue.
