Show your support for Armed Forces Day – and veterans!
This Saturday (29 June) is Armed Forces Day, a chance to show your support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community, from currently serving troops to veterans, who may be your care customers.
There are many ways to show your support and get involved, from running your own event to taking customers out to community events.
In Warwick, the whole community will get the chance to celebrate our armed forces at the Warwick District Armed Forces Community Fun Day, which is being held at St John’s House between 11am – 3pm.
The activities at the event will include World War II re-enactments, a cookery demonstration, a display of bomb disposal equipment, music by a Regimental band and singer, craft stalls and a range of military information stalls. It will be a fun packed day!
In Nuneaton, an Armed Forces Day and Family Gala Event will be hosted by The Veterans Contact Point and follows the successful format used for several years but with a new venue nearer to the town centre, at Riversley Park. The event will run between 10am – 4pm and will have a “Party in the Park” theme with music provided by local bands, market stalls/traders and amusements.
Both the events are free and open to all, so why not join in? You can find out more about Armed Forces Day by clicking here.
