A call to action on dementia training

The Minister of State for Care and Chief Executives of Health Education England and Skills for Care have written to those working in the health and care system to ask for their continued support on a key part of the government’s 2020 Challenge on Dementia – improving dementia education and training.

The letter says that excellent training and education for staff is integral to delivering effective dementia care and is a key priority for delivering the vision to be the best country in the world for people with dementia and their carers to live in.

In 2018, the Dementia Workforce Task and Finish Group, overseen by the Dementia Programme Board, concluded their work and they identified a number of opportunities to improve dementia training and education.

Those involved in the health and care system are being asked for their support in delivering these important actions. Read the letter in full: Dementia training letter
