NHS EMS+ Bed Availability Tool
The EMS + Bed Availability Tool aims to provide a single point of access for health and social care staff to assess bed capacity within Warwickshire’s care homes market, therefore assisting in discharging patients to the right setting in a timely fashion and reducing the number of phone calls you receive with regard to your bed vacancies.
To enable best use of the system, data is ideally required to be updated by providers each morning by 9:30am.
This is to ensure that the system provides as accurate a picture as possible which can then be used in morning discharge meetings. If your information hasn’t changed from one day to the next, the update is simply a case of logging into the system and refreshing the screen.
The user guide (see link below) gives step by step guidance on how to do this – it should only take a few seconds. This keeps the current data entered while also confirming for users that the bed status is as up to date as possible.
